Saturday Fun

We (GDY and myself) woke up and left early in the morning to go see the hot air balloons take off.  He was so excited about them, we had been on the website for the festival the night before learning all about what hot air balloons are.  He could hardly sleep, keep saying, "five hot air balloons, Mom! I want five."  When we were walking from the parking spot we could see a balloon over the trees and he stopped, pointed and said in a loud but whisper quiet voice.  "Look Coooool Mom!"   We got there just in time to see them all fill up and take off.

All the balloons came up over the trees then down to touch their baskets into the lake, not sure exactly why but it made for some cool photos.  All the cars and trucks stoped on the highway bridge to watch.

he loves his new slinky, has had to sleep with it ever since

So after we watched them all float off into the distance, we noticed how hot it was getting, the high that day was 110. It felt like it was already 95 and it was only 8 in the morning. Can't wait for some cooler weather.

We went home and enjoyed our shady back yard some then eat lunch early and both napped. That evening we went to a picnic and swim party that was put on by his new school, it was a lot of fun and we both enjoyed meeting all the moms, dads, kids and teachers. They all have a really "earthy" feel to them and were all really friendly. Greyson slept like a rock that night.

Monday of this week (yesterday) we when to the new parent orientation at the school. It was Greyson's first time at the school and he stayed in the room with the kids and the aftercare girl while the parents when over the normal day and asked questions. She's great with the kids and he really enjoyed her, even talked about her on the way home.

This was Dad's first time at the school and he certainly approved, I'm glad he got to see it. It will be hard for him to visit much with how far it is from the house, I will be doing all the drop offs and pickups because it's in the town I work in. Maybe Dad can make it up for some of the field trips.
