New Fire Place

So for a while we have been talking about and planning building an outdoor fire place in Bonham to replace the sub par fire pit. This weekend with the help of some friends it happened.  Unfortunately not before Greyson burn his little two fingers by touching some still warm ash from the fire pit fire the night before.  When he did it he didn't cry very much, he's really tuff for a little kid.  We took care of it though by washing it and letting him play in cold water to keep any swelling down.  Now we have a much better and safer arrangement with the fire place.  Which blocks the cool north wind and keeps the heat focused where it needs to be.  Still needs a chimney and it isn't pretty but it's much improved from the old system.   It was well tested on Saturday night, andfrom all accounts makes great smores!!  We had Jessie, Kim, Elle (3y), Page (7m), Allie (dog) and Cash (dog) come to stay with us for the whole weekend.  They spend both Friday night and Saturday night.  That is one brave and flexible Mommy, and super good baby, thank goodness everyone slept well in a different place.  The weather was fantastic! 75 and sunny on Friday and Saturday, we had a great time hanging out with them all.  Even had a chance to christen the new croquet  set finally, kids loved it thanks a bunch Char.  Special thanks for the fire place building skills, goodies from Wal-mart and for bringing the camera and laptop.  Loved getting to use it! (I took over 400 pictures, got a few good ones to show off)  I'll post them in a few days.
