Picnic and a Real Bike

My office has an annual picnic for employee's and their families.  They had an excellent turn out, over 2,000 people attended it last weekend.  Was a great event on a great weather day.  There were lots of activities geared towards kids and GDY enjoyed them all.  Played on the 4 different bounce houses, rode a pony, had his arm painted at the face painting lady, and went on a hay ride.  We all loved the barbecue dinner. No pictures but I did take this movie of him enjoying the pony ride.

GDY has been riding his wood glider bike now for a solid year and it's a little too small for him.  Last night Dad brought home a 16 inch (not the smallest size but the next one up) real bike with peddles for him.  He loved it and wanted to try it out right away.  It doesn't have training wheels so it took dad walking along with him and dad holding on a lot.  He really liked it even though it was hard and he keep wanting to try it again and again, we finally had to pull him off it at 7:30 to come inside.  He needs some more practice, but he had gotten noticeably better in the hour he was on it.  I think he will be riding it by the end of the week with minimal help.  Growing up fast around here....
