weekend fun

We had some good fun this weekend at muddy acres, drove up Friday after work.   The weather was so nice Friday and Saturday.  Just calm, clear and sunny.  There wasn't any mud, we were able to drive all over in the jeep.  Here are some pictures of the back of the property and the stream channel back there.
"Tree Bridge" no one would walk across it though..

some how I took a picture w/o any old tires; all the local farmers use them for channel bank support and they wash down in the creek (nice).  We need to have a "clean up day" and pull them all out sometime.

this chain was the old property marker, David promptly hitched the jeep to it and pulled it out of the tree so we could use it else where.

Chris and Dave took down one of the really tall dead cotton wood trees that was in the hedge row with the chain saw.  We were up at the house and it was really cool to watch and listen to, very impressive noise.  (Sorry no pictures or movies).  Then later on Jessie and Dave drug it back near the house with the backhoe and split some fire wood with David's newly built wood splitter.  Greyson wanted to ride in the backhoe (so weird that he wants to ride in a backhoe but won't even sit on a four wheeler).

He had fun playing with Diane and Chris, they set up his wood car tracks a bunch of times and Greyson now knows a few more of his colors thanks to her.

*not actual duck shot, picture for reference only

Chris shot a male widgeon duck off the pond and Reese even retrieved it.  Greyson loved getting to see and pet it up close, it was a beautiful duck.  Tasted really good also thanks to Jessie who grilled it and a few other he had later that night.

Then when we woke up it had rained most of the night, was very muddy, windy, cold and was starting to snow.  so we left quickly.  Snowed most of the day and we ended up with 4 inches on the ground, but it was too cold to be out playing in it.
