Halloween Fun

We sure packed in a lot of fun in yesterday.  First Greyson had his school butterfly parade and Halloween lunch at school.  The nursery school kids were all butterflies and the elementary kids were bats.  Here are some pictures from it.
they act out the stages of a butterfly, so here he is stretching out of a cocoon.

And here they are drying their wings

And here his is being cute :) the "Bat Cave" is behind him.

Then we went home and took a much needed 3 hour nap.  Then round two began.  He decided last minute to not be a monkey, but that he wanted to be a zombie instead so I painted his face and riped some of his clothes.  Not the best costume but he liked it so all was good.  We were invited over to a neighbor's house to enjoy their back yard haunted trail they had made.   Everyone leaves as a group from here to go on the hay ride and trick or treat each year.

Here  are some pictures of their very well decorated haunted trail.  They have a two acre lot so it was really quite long and lots of fun for the kids.

this is the spider web section

and this was the pumpkin patch

then another part

Luke what do you see down there?...
EKKK!!! It's the troll that lives in the cave!

the ghost section

a cute little monster we found along the way...

and certainly the cutest skeleton ever.

body parts were littered all over this part of the trail

this picture shows the back of the house that we were at for this party nicely.

here is the group of us getting all the kids together and loaded up on the wagon.

loaded up and ready.

only the older kids rode on the wagon.

almost ready...

one last picture before we left, I like the smirk on his face.

Some of the houses we stopped at went all out, we especially liked the witches house they had on what looked like professional witch costumes and makeup. They put on a great scary show and had kids screaming and a few even crying. Greyson took one look at the witch with the long nose and backed up 10 steps at least. The look on his face was absolutely priceless!  Then they came back up the drive way to hand out candy to the kids that weren't brave enough to get any.

Another favorite was the house that had a guy with a chain saw (turned on) and mask, he was awesome! Everyone did a great job and we really enjoyed or first Halloween here.   We're already looking forward to next year.  Greyson summed it up this morning by saying,

"When is the N-E-X-T Halloween coming Rach???"
