Halloween School Party - Butterfly Parade

Greyson's school Halloween party was awesome.  The preschool kids were butterflies, they had spent weeks making the wings and learning about butterflies and cocoons.  The older school age kids made masks.  They all marched out alternately, younger with older student until they were all outside and had walked along the path. The older kids helped the butterflies stay in line.  Then they made a circle and acted out the stages of a butterfly's life cycle.  At the end the butterflies, all 35 of them flapped away to play on the playground with their wings on.  It was beyond cute!  Then we had a nice outside picnic of ghoulish healthy foods.   Greyson helped me make apple monsters the night before.

our first apple monster, he was so proud of it!

all smiles in his butterfly wings

Here he is down acting as a cocoon

You can see his butterfly wings better in this one, and some more butterflies classmates also.

one of the other scary snacks.

a movie of them walking out...

and a movie of them flying away...

It was a great production and the kids really enjoyed themselves.

Also of note his surgery went fine, tubes look good the doctor said and we have a check up on the 11th to make sure he is completely healed.  So glad to have that done and I can't wait to see how much it helps him stay healthy this fall and winter.
